BASS TABLATURE

Even if you don't read traditional sheet music, you can play along to some of your favorite songs using the Tablature (Tab) notations.  Tab is a way you can learn your favorite songs even if you can't read musical notation.  Tab is great for new players because it helps keep them interested.  Of course if you are going to advance as a player you should learn how to read musical notation and understand basic music theory.  But until that happens you can still play using tabs.  While tabs are usually a good starting point for learning a song they are not usually an exact transcription but rather an interpretation by whoever "tabbed" it out, and the tabs are often simplified or sometimes they are in a different key than the hit recording so you'll have to transpose them.  Sheet music is often impossible to find for very new or very old songs.   In other cases I've found that store bought sheet music I did manage to find is not exactly as recorded!  I don't get how that could possibly be, but sometimes it is certainly the case.  Music publishers have been shutting down the USA based tab and lyric sites by serving them with cease and desist orders citing copyright infringement.  Tab sites usually have way more guitar tabs than bass tabs.  The following Tab sites have bass Tabs and are working at this time and may they rock on!

911 TABS - A tab search engine!  Finds tabs on bunches of tab sites.  Usually the first place I'll look.

Bass Masta - One of the older and larger collections of tabs.  Bass Masta's focus is on electric bass!  One of my favorite tab sites.
